The Founder

Hey, I'm the founder of the Sausageit project and I thought I would include a short overview about myself and why I set this whole thing up.

I'm a professional software engineer, with an entrepreneurial capability and I'm hoping that building some cool product/s in my spare time will help make me rich! I have lots of knowledge in the field of Computer Science and basically have a lot of big software ideas.

I have always been technically minded and a few years back I decided that I would carry my main hobby (computing) through to a career. I had been very successful prior to this, but I simply had no burning passion for my previous work... money can only get you so far in life! I think lots of people get to that point when they realise they have so much more to offer and I decided to create change by making things happen for me.

My aim was to get qualified to Master's degree level in a computer science related field and I'm right on track.

Was it the right decision??... It was the best decision I have ever made. Apart from the obvious short term financial implications, the whole experience was/is very worthwhile.

I have now found something that I really want to do for my work, where I'm happy to give my time and where my passion really lies - software engineering.

In the software field, I have discovered a way to fully exercise my technical skills. Using these skills has now given me real focus on where I want to be in my career.

I enjoy software development immensely. I have always liked to analyse and solve complex/interesting problems as I relish an intellectual challenge. It’s very satisfying to create an elegant software application or solution using purely thought, logic, imagination and your knowledge of a particular technology/s. It gets you thinking and keeps your brain active. For me, it is far more exciting than finance ever was! I have gained a particular affection for Object Oriented analysis/design/development, software architecture and making use of classic design patterns. This stuff just seems to fit perfectly with the way I think and I'm able to create excellent systems out of nothing... great fun!

This Sausageit project basically came about as an extension to my studies and has carried on to the present day.

As well as computing, I have lots of other interests including football and poker. I have also been known to have the occasional night out in the UK (where I reside). However, the main focus for me now is all things software and continuing to learn as much as possible on this fascinating subject.
